Accounting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage all general ledger activity and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation accuracy
• Oversee accounts payable for the credit union and affiliated entities
• Prepare and support monthly financial statements and internal reporting
• Support audits and regulatory examinations by gathering documentation and resolving follow-up items
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with highly regulated credit union policies and procedures
• Monitor transactions to identify and proactively resolve discrepancies
• Implement process improvements to enhance accounting accuracy and control

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• At least five years of professional accounting experience
• Proven experience with general ledger management
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks experience preferred)
• Eligibility to work in the United States
• Ability to work on-site at the Omaha office five days per week

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a bank or credit union accounting environment
• Experience supporting audits or regulatory examinations
