Accounting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead the oversight and management of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects across multiple business lines
• Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and department heads to monitor and track CapEx projects
• Develop, implement, and oversee control procedures and forms to effectively track and report capital expenditures
• Maintain comprehensive records of all CapEx projects, including budgets, change orders, and key financial metrics
• Partner with Property Management to manage changes and develop robust tracking systems
• Monitor spending to ensure alignment with approved budgets and address discrepancies promptly
• Reconcile financial data against accounting records and report discrepancies to the Controller
• Ensure accurate and timely capitalization of eligible expenditures in accordance with accounting standards
• Prepare regular reports on the financial status and progress of CapEx projects for senior management
• Conduct variance analyses and offer recommendations to enhance financial performance and project efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7+ years of experience in Accounting or Financial Management
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in Excel and GSuite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Intacct
• Knowledge of IFRS
