About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the oversight and management of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects across multiple business lines
- Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and department heads to monitor and track CapEx projects
- Develop, implement, and oversee control procedures and forms to effectively track and report capital expenditures
- Maintain comprehensive records of all CapEx projects, including budgets, change orders, and key financial metrics
- Partner with Property Management to manage changes and develop robust tracking systems
- Monitor spending to ensure alignment with approved budgets and address discrepancies promptly
- Reconcile financial data against accounting records and report discrepancies to the Controller
- Ensure accurate and timely capitalization of eligible expenditures in accordance with accounting standards
- Prepare regular reports on the financial status and progress of CapEx projects for senior management
- Conduct variance analyses and offer recommendations to enhance financial performance and project efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5-7+ years of experience in Accounting or Financial Management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in Excel and GSuite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Intacct
- Knowledge of IFRS
