Accounting Senior Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting department and provide mentorship to ensure high performance
• Oversee meticulous review of monthly client revenue and expenses
• Conduct in-depth analysis of revenue and expenses and ensure precision in NRI & WI calculations
• Offer expert guidance on oil & gas accounting matters including taxation, deductions, and joint interest billing
• Manage annual 1099 processing and property tax reporting
• Administer EnergyLink data and establish CDEX formats
• Supervise the onboarding process for new clients
• Develop and refine robust processes for accurate accounting and reporting
• Prepare and validate account reconciliations for revenue, royalties, expenses, JIBs, and receivables
• Lead month-end closure and manage bank accounts, statements, and journal entries
• Oversee the processing and distribution of royalty revenue checks
• Conduct thorough reviews of charges associated with joint interest billing

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting in the oil and gas industry
• Strong understanding of oil & gas accounting principles and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and oil & gas accounting software
• Ability to meet monthly close deadlines
• Excellent organization and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
