Accounting & Reporting Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions including analyzing, monitoring, preparing, and reconciling financial information.
• Prepare financial reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
• Lead the fiscal year-end close process and manage external audit engagements.
• Report consolidated financial results to UCSF leadership, including detailed variance analysis.
• Develop, implement, and monitor accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Manage and motivate a diverse group of people within a complex finance environment.
• Provide customer support and training for accounting systems and UC policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 7+ years of organizational experience in a large, complex environment.
• 4+ years of experience in a leadership role managing diverse teams.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB.
• Experience with large-scale integrated ERP financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle, Workday, or SAP).
• Proven ability to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and presentations.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with executive management, faculty, and technical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
• Strong knowledge of higher education best practices.
