Accounting Rebate Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage the rebate reconciliation process to ensure accurate collection of negotiated funds, including buydowns, purchase rebates, and loyalty programs.
• Enter rebate program details into the PDI Rebate Manager, manage accruals, and validate supporting documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accurate accounting for all rebate payments and adjustments.
• Prepare and submit scan data files required for manufacturer payments and resolve any file errors.
• Proactively communicate with vendors and internal teams (Merchandising, Marketing, and Accounts Receivable) to resolve discrepancies.
• Audit rebate information to ensure alignment with contracts and maintain an updated system of record for audit purposes.
• Prepare detailed reporting on rebate performance and the financial impact of various programs.
• Evaluate and improve rebate management processes to drive optimization and automation.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in a business-related field.
• 1+ years of experience in accounting, rebate management, auditing, or financial analytics.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate large datasets.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, specifically accruals and reconciliations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or rebate management.
• Proficiency in writing Structured Query Language (SQL) to retrieve data.
