Accounting Manager

We partner with schools and community organizations to deliver exceptional after-school programs, workshops, and educational experiences through a marketplace of outstanding teaching artists and enrichment providers.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close in QuickBooks Online and prepare monthly financial statements
• Manage accounts payable using Tipalti and monitor accounts receivable using Upflow
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and coordinate with external CPAs
• Calculate and administer sales commissions and maintain commission models
• Improve CRM data quality, build recurring dashboards, and support revenue reporting
• Operationalize expansion into new markets and coordinate vendor onboarding
• Improve workflows using AI and modern software tools to automate repetitive work

Requirements

• 3–7 years of accounting experience in a small or growing business
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience owning bookkeeping and the monthly close
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial analysis)
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA candidate
• Experience with HubSpot, Tipalti, Upflow, or Stripe
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments
• Experience with sales commission administration and business process automation
• Proficiency using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot to improve productivity
