Accounting Manager

About the Company

Powerhouse Recycling is a national, market leading, certified electronics recycling and refurbishment firm that is locally owned and based out of Salisbury, NC since 2008. As we continue to scale, we're investing in the systems, processes, and people that will support the next phase of our growth.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals to ensure GAAP compliance
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for the CFO
• Lead the year-end audit, managing auditor relationships and resolving open items
• Strengthen internal controls and document key accounting policies and procedures
• Lead system and process improvements including ERP optimization and automation
• Support ad hoc projects such as banking, lender reporting, and M&A diligence

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Active CPA
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Excellent attention to detail and track record of meeting deadlines
• Ability to work in-person in Salisbury, NC

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience owning a full-cycle month-end close
• Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm) followed by industry experience
• Hands-on experience with a mid-market ERP, preferably NetSuite
• Experience working with external auditors on a full annual audit
• Experience scaling accounting operations in a growing company
