About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee and reconcile all aspects of cash management, including bank and investment accounts
- Manage payroll functions for students and faculty/staff using the ADP system
- Supervise the Payroll/Cashier and Accounts Payable Clerk
- Prepare and process journal entries, student monthly payment plans, and sales tax filings
- Manage student loan account activity and assist with student billing inquiries
- Prepare and file annual tax forms such as W-2, 1099, 1098T, and 1095C
- Assist the Controller with annual audit preparations
- Review accounts payable and cashier activities, serving as backup when necessary
- Utilize and manage online payment portals including Square, PayPal, and Stripe
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- 3-5 years of professional accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- High attention to detail regarding GAAP standards and financial accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ADP payroll systems
- Previous experience working in a non-profit environment
- Experience with banking, reconciliation, and payroll management
