Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, cash management, accounts payable, and financial reporting
• Oversee period end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations with high-quality documentation
• Draft technical accounting memorandums in accordance with FASB codification
• Manage general ledger coding procedures and ensure proper transaction classification
• Conduct thorough analyses of financial data to identify discrepancies and trends
• Enhance financial systems including ERP, Payroll, Payables, and T&E
• Establish, document, and improve compliant accounting policies and procedures
• Provide leadership and mentoring to the accounting team

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting
• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement accounting systems and ERPs
• Ability to work in-person in Austin, TX

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Mix of public and private accounting experience
• Experience in the renewable energy or utility space
