Accounting Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted cross-functional initiatives to remediate control deficiencies and implement operational efficiencies in the month-end close process
• Develop project plans and communicate goals, updates, and business outcomes
• Act as the point of contact between Operational close teams and partners in Product, Engineering, and Financial Systems
• Proactively review procedures to ensure timely monthly close and accuracy of accounting entries
• Recommend accounting process improvements that balance scalability, risk, and cost
• Work with the Record-to-Report team to translate requirements into report requests for Financial Systems
• Resolve complex cross-functional issues as assigned by the Director of Core Business

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Solid understanding of US GAAP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, data analysis)
• SQL experience or strong interest in developing SQL skills
• Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in technology, money movement, BNPL, or consumer lending
