About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction for accounting and related courses to students, including dual credit high school students
  • Actively engage students in the learning process and provide mentorship to dual credit partners
  • Maintain office hours and teach extended day classes, labs, and hybrid/online courses
  • Assist in the development of curriculum and participate in assessment activities for the LIT Core Curriculum
  • Participate in college service, including committee work, student advising, tutoring, and recruitment
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade teaching skills and stay abreast of educational trends
  • Maintain ethical and professional behavior and adhere to TSUS and LIT policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of teaching methodologies and pedagogical strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in a higher education setting
  • Doctorate degree in the subject area
  • Relevant field and/or industry certifications
