About the role

Responsibilities

  • Compile and sort documents, such as invoices and checks, to substantiate business transactions
  • Track invoice due dates to ensure timely payments and utilize early payment discounts
  • Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions into the accounts payable subsidiary ledger
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances due
  • Prepare checks for vendor disbursement and maintain organized records of invoices, statements, and reports
  • Distribute student refund or employee reimbursement checks and mail remaining vendor payments

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Two years of accounts payable experience
  • Two years of bookkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of computerized accounts payable systems
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
