Accounting Controller

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cost accounting, general ledger, and fixed assets
• Direct and supervise a large accounting team, providing proactive coaching and professional development opportunities
• Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate journal entries, cost recording, and account reconciliations
• Oversee variance analysis and investigate expense fluctuations to determine root causes and implement solutions
• Collaborate with budget owners and stakeholders to produce accurate internal management and financial reporting
• Drive continuous process improvements through digital technology and ERP platform enhancements
• Partner with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and regulatory compliance
• Maintain department KPIs and ensure strict adherence to internal control policies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 6+ years of experience as a Controller within a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience managing financial audits and working with external auditors
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of GAAP, including revenue recognition and lease accounting
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
• Experience with JDE, QAD, or similar ERP platforms
• Familiarity with SOX 404 control requirements
• Strong background in Cost Accounting
• Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including budgeting and strategic planning
