Accounting Associate

Responsibilities

• Process and record day-to-day accounting transactions including AP, AR, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries and account reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including supporting schedules and variance analyses
• Assist with government contract accounting, cost allowability, and indirect cost rates
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations such as FAR, CAS, and OMB Uniform Guidance
• Prepare financial reports for government submissions, audits, and grant reporting
• Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests
• Work with project managers to ensure proper billing and revenue recognition for government-funded projects
• Maintain accurate fixed asset records and support capitalization and depreciation
• Support invoicing, collections, and cash application

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with government accounting, contract/grant accounting, and federal/state reporting
• Solid understanding of GAAP and regulations (FAR, CAS, OMB)
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aviation or transportation industry
• Experience supporting government audits (DCAA, OIG, single audits)
• Familiarity with aircraft leases, maintenance accounting, or FAA grant programs
• Experience working in Rippling
