Accounting Assistant

Responsibilities

• Register accounting entries including income, expenses, journal, and bank transactions
• Perform accounting reconciliations and review balance sheet accounts
• Support monthly and annual accounting closing processes
• Review, capture, and issue invoices in compliance with tax requirements (CFDI)
• Manage and follow up on accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assist in the preparation of preliminary financial statements
• Maintain updated accounting files and supporting documentation
• Support the preparation of informative tax returns and obligations
• Assist with internal and external audits as required
• Prepare and submit reports for government entities such as INEGI and RNIE

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (titulado)
• 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in multinational companies or Big4 firms
• Intermediate English proficiency
• Knowledge of Mexican accounting standards (NIF); knowledge of IFRS is a plus
• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, basic functions)
• Experience with Aspel or other ERP systems
• Strong knowledge of Mexican tax laws (ISR, IVA, DIOT, annual declarations, etc.)
