Accounting Analyst

Responsibilities

• Record recurring journal entries to the general ledger (GL)
• Participate in month-end financial closing activities
• Manage the P&L variance analysis process
• Prepare balance sheet analyses
• Develop financial models and perform ad-hoc analyses to support improvement initiatives
• Participate in financial process automation and optimization projects
• Contribute to the improvement and standardization of financial KPIs
• Implement recommendations to improve the accuracy and quality of financial information
• Identify opportunities for process and control improvements
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting periods (cut-off)
• Act as a resource between operations and the finance team

Requirements

• College or university degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 4 to 5 years of accounting experience, including experience with financial systems
• Excellent proficiency in Excel
• Experience in financial process improvement and optimization
• Experience participating in financial system migration projects
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Critical thinking and ability to formulate recommendations
• Autonomy, rigor, organizational skills, and accountability
• Bilingualism (French and English)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial systems such as Microsoft Great Plains, Recy, Maximo, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), or similar ERPs
