Accountant

Responsibilities

• Maintain and control General Ledger accounts and business transactions using GAAP
• Perform analytical work and thorough reviews of financial records
• Assist with accurate and timely monthly and year-end reporting (including W-2 and W-2c)
• Generate ad hoc reports as required by the finance team
• Compute and process manual or off-cycle check requests
• Analyze and coordinate financial data to present it in an understandable manner
• Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions as requested
• Assist with month-end close processes and journal entries
• Maintain documentation for department processes, procedures, and controls

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of corporate accounting experience
• Strong understanding of the general ledger, journal entries, and accounting principles
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., basic formulas, pivot tables, Vlookups)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret large data sets
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• Experience using Xero accounting software
• Experience working within small to medium-sized businesses
