Accountant - Management Accounts

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting controls and financial security by auditing documents and adhering to approved policies.
• Ensure accuracy of financial entries within the SAGE X3 system in conformity with recognized financial dimensions.
• Process credits to GSAs against various payments after proper verification of documents and approvals.
• Record outstation expenses, including accruals and reconciliation of Vendor and GSA accounts, before month-end closing.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies for suppliers, GSAs, inter-companies, and hubs on a monthly basis.
• Review cost accounts and Balance Sheet items, preparing necessary entries such as accruals and reversals.
• Prepare budget vs. actual reports for all departments and provide timely responses to departmental queries.
• Generate periodic MIS reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or an equivalent field from a recognized university.
• 3+ years of comprehensive experience in corporate finance or accounting, preferably in a regional or multinational environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Sound knowledge of the accounting cycle, process flows, and SFAS (Statements of Financial Accounting Concepts).
• Experience working in a computerized accounting environment (experience with SAGE X3 is a plus).
• Strong mathematical and numerical reasoning abilities with high attention to detail.
• Fluency in the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional qualification as an Accountant.
• Previous experience within the Airlines, Travel, or Tourism industry, specifically with low-cost carriers.
• Exposure to financial modeling and new industry technologies.
