Accountant

Responsibilities

• Process and review accounts payable invoices for accuracy, coding, and documentation
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
• Prepare journal entries and maintain proper supporting documentation
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
• Support sales tax calculations, payments, reporting, and documentation
• Assist with cash forecasting and financial reporting
• Help prepare schedules related to income statements and balance sheets
• Maintain organized financial records and support audit readiness
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience with accounts payable, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Ability to read and understand income statements and balance sheets
• Proficiency in Excel and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work with confidential information and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience with state sales tax calculations and filings
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, or project-based operations
• Experience supporting cash forecasts or budget support schedules
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, or Infor
