About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional accounting work to support the Agency’s financial operations
  • Prepare, review, and analyze accounting transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Support financial reporting processes and maintain the integrity of financial records
  • Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and accounting standards (GAAP and GASB)
  • Identify and resolve accounting or compliance issues through data analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field
  • One year of professional accounting experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards
  • Proficiency in enterprise financial systems (such as SAP) and advanced Excel skills
  • Valid California Class C driver's license and ability to maintain insurability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a public agency or governmental accounting environment
