Accountant II

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet accounts and monthly bank statements
• Assist the Controller with monthly and yearly closes, including the preparation of reconciliations and workpapers for annual audits
• Reconcile the CAMS student information system to the general ledger
• Coordinate with Advancement and Awards Management to track and input transactions from Blackbaud modules
• Prepare entries and financial reports for beneficial interests, including foundations and trusts
• Review and post uploads from subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger
• Perform payroll integration entries and provide backup for the Payroll department
• Calculate and record land lease rents, fixed assets, and depreciation

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis)
• Four years of professional accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting theory and practice, including receivables, payables, and budget analysis
• Knowledge of OMB Circulars A-21, A-110, and A-133
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Experience utilizing accounting software programs and electronic web access
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet strict deadlines

• Experience in grant management
