Accountant

Responsibilities

• Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures
• Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts
• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital to prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements
• Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers to substantiate individual transactions
• Lead and coordinate activities of lower-level accountants or clerical workers
• Establish, modify, and coordinate implementation of accounting control procedures
• Devise and implement manual or computer-based systems for general accounting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to GAAP
• High proficiency with accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of accounting experience
