Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax returns in accordance with Canadian regulations
• Assist with GST/HST returns, payroll tax, and other statutory filings
• Perform tax planning and advisory services to optimize liabilities for businesses and individuals
• Stay updated on Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations and tax law changes
• Conduct financial statement analysis to ensure accurate tax calculations
• Handle tax audits, notices, and communications with the CRA on behalf of clients
• Utilize QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare, and other tax preparation software for bookkeeping and reporting
• Collaborate closely with the Toronto-based accounting team to meet client expectations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Canadian taxation and accounting
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, CRA regulations, and compliance
• Proven experience with T1, T2, GST/HST, and payroll tax filings
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare, TaxCycle, or similar software
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA Canada or CPA (Pakistan) certification
• Previous experience working directly with Canadian clients or firms
