Accountant

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end in-house bookkeeping for the German entity in DATEV Rechnungswesen (AR/AP, banks/cash, accruals/deferrals)
• Execute month-end close checklists and file accurate, on-time VAT returns under HGB and VAT rules
• Migrate accounting data, configurations, and workflows from external bookkeepers into a structured DATEV environment
• Maintain robust intercompany billing and monthly reconciliations
• Integrate Yokoy and other feeder systems with DATEV, validating tax and account mappings
• Design standardized procure-to-pay and expense workflows with audit trails
• Partner with Finance/People to reconcile payroll-related entries and coach junior teammates

Requirements

• Proven ownership of German entity bookkeeping within DATEV Rechnungswesen for a GmbH
• Experience with AR/AP, bank reconciliations, accruals/deferrals, and VAT returns under HGB
• Demonstrated success transitioning from external bookkeepers to in-house setups
• Hands-on experience integrating spend/expense tools (e.g., Yokoy) with DATEV
• Strong intercompany and multi-entity experience including monthly reconciliations

• Collaboration with tax advisors and auditors
