Accountant

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping and regular payment reconciliation to ensure accurate transaction recording
• Support monthly and annual financial closing processes in collaboration with the Finance team
• Manage accounts payable by reviewing and recording incoming invoices and expense requests
• Ensure correct coding, approval workflows, and timely posting of supplier invoices according to Belgian GAAP
• Manage VAT treatment for transactions and support periodic VAT filings
• Assist with Corporate Income Tax preparations and ensure compliance with Belgian tax regulations
• Support ad hoc projects and help automate operational finance processes to support international growth

Requirements

• First experience in an accounting role, ideally within a Belgian SaaS company
• Solid understanding of BE GAAP, Belgian VAT regulations, and Corporate Income Tax
• Must be based in Belgium to manage local accounting and tax regulations
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Sincere, trustworthy, and discreet when handling sensitive financial information

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of SaaS billing and subscription systems (e.g., Chargebee, HubSpot)
• Experience using Exact Online
