Accountable Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the construction of wastewater pumping stations and other water/wastewater infrastructure projects
• Direct the oversight of planning, design, and construction of major capital projects
• Prepare, negotiate, and process modifications to Consultant Contract scope, cost, and schedule
• Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates' work assignments
• Ensure Environmental Health & Safety is incorporated throughout the project lifecycle
• Implement project delivery procedures and coordinate with bureau support divisions
• Manage quality of project delivery and monitor key performance indicators (Scope, Schedule, Budget)
• Facilitate seamless communication with Agency Bureaus, other City Agencies, and stakeholders

Requirements

• Permanent Civil Service status as a Construction Project Manager is strictly required
• High school diploma and five years of experience managing/inspecting construction projects (min $300,000 per project)
• OR a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management plus one year of relevant experience
• OR a valid license as a professional engineer, registered architect, or registered landscape architect plus one year of relevant experience
• Valid New York State motor vehicle driver license
• Proficiency in MS Office and Project Scheduling Software

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering design and construction industry standards for water supply and wastewater facilities
• Experience writing and reviewing contract specifications for major public works projects
• Ability to assess consultant and contractor performance against contract requirements
• Strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills
