Accountable Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the construction of wastewater pumping stations and other water/wastewater infrastructure projects
• Direct the oversight of planning, design, and construction of major capital projects
• Prepare, negotiate, and process modifications to Consultant Contract scope, cost, and schedule
• Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates, including evaluating staff and determining staffing requirements
• Ensure Environmental Health & Safety is incorporated throughout the project lifecycle
• Implement project delivery procedures and coordinate with bureau support divisions
• Manage communication and coordination with Agency Bureaus, other City Agencies, and key stakeholders
• Monitor key performance indicators regarding scope, schedule, budget, and other metrics

Requirements

• Permanent Civil Service Associate Project Manager status (Required)
• One year of full-time experience supervising employees performing project management work on engineering or architectural projects
• Experience supervising a construction project valued at $1,000,000 or more
• Baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field, plus additional project management experience
• Valid New York State motor vehicle driver license

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering design and construction industry standards for water supply and wastewater facilities
• Proficiency in MS Office and Project Scheduling Software
• Experience writing and reviewing contract specifications for major public works projects
• Ability to assess consultant and contractor performance against contract requirements
• Strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills
