About the role

Responsibilities

  • Identify, manage, and close profitable business at assigned accounts while identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Engage with clients to understand business objectives, challenges, and plans to build long-term trust.
  • Develop a 12 to 24-month pipeline of well-qualified incremental business opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of installed Cognex technology and competitive products.
  • Effectively demonstrate products to customers using the standard sales process.
  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure full contract compliance.
  • Collaborate with integration partners and the Applications Engineering team to close strategic opportunities.
  • Assist at trade shows and marketing events.
  • Maintain operational excellence through accurate weekly forecasting and information flow.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of sales performance in the automation or a similar industry.
  • Experience operating in a solutions sales environment with complex, long-term sales cycles.
  • Experience selling technical products to all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to travel intensively across the assigned territory.
  • University Degree or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Ability to work independently and operate effectively in a remote capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling machine vision products.
