Account Representative

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for students and parents regarding student finance, billing, collections, and Federal Perkins loans.
• Manage a portfolio of accounts including tuition, returned checks, and other University accounts receivable to ensure repayment.
• Utilize skip tracing methods, phone calls, letters, and emails to locate and engage with students and parents.
• Provide financial counseling by evaluating financial standing and brainstorming appropriate payment arrangements and schedules.
• Manage Federal Perkins Loan cohort rates by working with students to rehabilitate delinquent loans, processing forbearances, and discussing loan consolidation.
• Assist the Bursar’s Office with incoming phone calls, live chat, and emails to meet service metric standards.
• Collaborate with University departments such as Financial Aid and the Registrar’s Office to resolve account issues.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree.
• 1-2 years of experience in credit, collections, or customer service within the finance industry (or an equivalent combination of experience).
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of accounting concepts, loans, and credit.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to learn new software packages and problem-solve effectively.
