About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and retain a portfolio of 100-200 accounts, driving revenue growth and meeting renewal targets
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to meet institutional research and teaching needs
- Analyze customer usage data and performance trends to proactively address account health
- Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities across journal and non-journal products
- Renew and renegotiate agreements while managing all necessary paperwork and compliance
- Build and expand relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations
- Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and provide regular sales forecasting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including customer success, sales operations, and editorial
- Travel up to 30% and collaborate globally with internal teams across different regions
Requirements
- 4-year undergraduate degree
- 5-7+ years of experience in strategic account management and hitting financial targets
- Proven experience in complex selling situations
- Ability to diagnose institutional subject-level research and teaching needs
- Strong written and email communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a book of business
- Proven success in exceeding sales goals using a consultative approach
