About the role

Responsibilities

  • Sell advertising solutions to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies.
  • Apply the Scripps Sales Process (SSP) to analyze customer needs and provide customized multi-platform advertising solutions.
  • Facilitate the sale of television commercial airtime and a full array of digital marketing options.
  • Prospect, secure appointments, perform needs analysis, and close sales to develop new business.
  • Use ratings data and market trends to negotiate program ratings and advertising rates.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing best-in-class customer service and growing existing accounts.
  • Manage a sales funnel using CRM systems to monitor and achieve key performance indicators.
  • Contribute to creative campaign development, including storyboarding and concept creation.
  • Perform administrative functions including media avail negotiations, copywriting, and revenue collection.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in a related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2+ years of proven sales success preferred.
  • Experience in strategic account management, broadcast ratings, and digital execution.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of Google Office (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and virtual conferencing platforms.

  • Strong influencing, selling, and upselling skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to translate research data into sound marketing proposals.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
