About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end sales process for startup prospects, from initial outreach and discovery through to commercial negotiation, onboarding, and go-live.
- Lead consultative, needs-based conversations with founders, finance managers, and CFOs to map Airwallex solutions to their specific expansion plans.
- Retain and grow a named portfolio of existing startup customers, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities to increase platform usage.
- Partner with the Venture Partnerships function to convert VC relationships into qualified, warm introductions to portfolio companies.
- Represent Airwallex at startup community events, founder networking sessions, and industry meetups to build long-term ecosystem relationships.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of sales experience in a B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments environment with a proven track record of meeting targets.
- Native proficiency in Korean to effectively engage with the local startup community.
- Experience selling into venture-backed startups or working within the startup/VC ecosystem.
- Deep familiarity with the Korea startup landscape, including key VCs, accelerators, and co-working communities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a full sales cycle independently, from self-sourced prospecting to closing.
- Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to discuss complex financial concepts like FX, multi-currency accounts, and global payouts.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, specifically Salesforce.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in fintech, payments, or financial services (e.g., global accounts, card issuing, or spend management).
- Experience managing a portfolio of accounts alongside new business development.
- An entrepreneurial mindset or prior founder experience.
