Accessioning Technologist I

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and verify the condition of incoming patient samples
• Perform accurate data entry into the CRM system, including labeling identification numbers
• Upload relevant documentation and intake forms to maintain audit histories
• Route samples into appropriate workflows and alert downstream staff of availability
• Maintain specimen integrity and proper documentation throughout the accessioning process
• Address discrepancies in paperwork or missing information promptly
• Ensure regulatory compliance with CLIA, CAP, and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) standards
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and ensure a high-quality customer experience

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in logistics, science, technology, or a regulated clinical setting
• OR an Associate degree in biological or life sciences

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in an accessioning department within a CLIA laboratory or clinical diagnostics setting
• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
• Knowledge of medical terminology, specifically anatomic pathology specimen descriptions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy
