High school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years experience in logistics, science, or clinical setting, OR Associate degree in biological or life sciences, Knowledge of medical terminology, Data entry skills
About the role
Responsibilities
- Receive, unpack, and verify the condition of incoming patient samples
- Perform accurate data entry into the CRM system, including labeling identification numbers
- Upload relevant documentation and intake forms to maintain audit histories
- Route samples into appropriate workflows and alert downstream staff of availability
- Maintain specimen integrity and proper documentation throughout the accessioning process
- Address discrepancies in paperwork or missing information promptly
- Ensure regulatory compliance with CLIA, CAP, and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) standards
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and ensure a high-quality customer experience
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of experience in logistics, science, technology, or a regulated clinical setting
- OR an Associate degree in biological or life sciences
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an accessioning department within a CLIA laboratory or clinical diagnostics setting
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, specifically anatomic pathology specimen descriptions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy
