Accessioning Technician II

Responsibilities

• Receive and open packages of patient specimens and accession samples into the clinical database
• Enter patient and institutional data with high accuracy and manage associated electronic and physical documentation
• Identify incomplete or unacceptable specimens and escalate cases for follow-up
• Train incoming Accessioning Technicians and provide support to team members
• Communicate with Genetic Testing Coordinators and Specimen Processing Technicians to ensure smooth hand-offs
• Assist with specimen handling and disposal while adhering to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of experience in laboratory accessioning, specimen receipt, or processing
• Basic scientific aptitude for learning new technologies and clinical data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and PC workstations
• Ability to work a Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm schedule

• Technical school or college coursework
