About the role
Responsibilities
- Receive and open packages of patient specimens and accession samples into the clinical database
- Enter patient and institutional data with high accuracy and manage associated electronic and physical documentation
- Identify incomplete or unacceptable specimens and escalate cases for follow-up
- Train incoming Accessioning Technicians and provide support to team members
- Communicate with Genetic Testing Coordinators and Specimen Processing Technicians to ensure smooth hand-offs
- Assist with specimen handling and disposal while adhering to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in laboratory accessioning, specimen receipt, or processing
- Basic scientific aptitude for learning new technologies and clinical data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and PC workstations
- Ability to work a Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm schedule
