Accessibility Shuttle Driver

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pickups and dispatch the shuttle using online booking software
• Drive clients on designated shuttle routes in a safe and professional manner
• Maintain visibility to students, faculty, and staff while driving on campus
• Complete appropriate shift, incident, and vehicle inspection reports
• Ensure client confidentiality and maintain high levels of interpersonal sensitivity
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle
• Assist in gathering client feedback and promoting the service to the community
• Work closely with the Campus Accessibility Coordinator to uphold program integrity

Requirements

• Valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
• Ability to provide a driver’s abstract
• Ability to pass written and road tests
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Availability for at least one weekday shift per week (shifts are approximately four hours)

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered UBC student eligible to work in the upcoming academic year
• Experience in customer service or working with people with disabilities
• Good knowledge of the UBC campus geographical layout
• Strong communication, logistics, and conflict management skills
• Ability to maintain composure under stress
