About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate pickups and dispatch the shuttle using online booking software
- Drive clients on designated shuttle routes in a safe and professional manner
- Maintain visibility to students, faculty, and staff while driving on campus
- Complete appropriate shift, incident, and vehicle inspection reports
- Ensure client confidentiality and maintain high levels of interpersonal sensitivity
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle
- Assist in gathering client feedback and promoting the service to the community
- Work closely with the Campus Accessibility Coordinator to uphold program integrity
Requirements
- Valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
- Ability to provide a driver’s abstract
- Ability to pass written and road tests
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Availability for at least one weekday shift per week (shifts are approximately four hours)
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered UBC student eligible to work in the upcoming academic year
- Experience in customer service or working with people with disabilities
- Good knowledge of the UBC campus geographical layout
- Strong communication, logistics, and conflict management skills
- Ability to maintain composure under stress
