Academy Basketball Coach

Responsibilities

• Develop U8-U14 youth basketball players in accordance with YMCA mission and values
• Conduct weekly organized training sessions focused on player development
• Participate in player evaluations and scrimmages for team placement
• Coach weekend league games and tournaments with an emphasis on teaching the game
• Conduct parent meetings to distribute season and team information
• Maintain positive relationships with players and parents through effective communication
• Attract, lead, and motivate quality staff and volunteer leadership

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-5+ years of coaching experience
• Base level to top level certification from a National Agency in a related field
• Valid Texas Driver License with satisfactory driving record
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Some college education
• 3-5+ years of coaching in a college environment
• Experience coaching in a high-performance senior environment in US-based competition
• Elite development experience
