Academic Tutor

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge of the state curriculum
• Provide supplemental assignments to help promote greater understanding of material
• Provide remedial and enrichment support for students
• Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress
• Provide a customized approach tailored to the individual needs of each student

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Valid state teaching certificate or equivalent, OR
• Current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate, OR
• 2+ years experience as a classroom teacher in a private or charter school, OR
• Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College, OR
• Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College
