About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage academic scheduling, including class sections, final exams, and studio assignments.
- Support curriculum changes, catalog updates, and enrollment restrictions.
- Assist students with curricular needs such as course overrides, late adds, and substitutions.
- Provide financial support including payroll approvals, reimbursements, and contract processing.
- Facilitate travel arrangements for faculty and visiting artists.
- Serve as building manager for the Shaffer Art Building, coordinating space reservations and maintenance.
- Oversee departmental administrative activities, including managing temporary employees and work-study students.
- Manage the department chair's calendar and attend faculty meetings to take minutes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Considerable prior experience in administrative work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic background or expertise in a higher education setting.
- Experience with PeopleSoft, MySlice, OnBase, Blackboard, or SLATE.
