Academic Support Coordinator/Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, personal, financial, and career counseling to HEOP and academic probation students.
• Conduct regular 1:1 advising sessions with students across all undergraduate year levels.
• Coordinate and supervise developmental skills programs, tutorials, and structured study sessions.
• Design and lead academic success workshops and seminars.
• Recruit, identify, and review student applications for the HEOP program, including traveling to high schools and college fairs.
• Collect and analyze program data regarding attrition, retention, and graduation rates to support state reporting.
• Supervise part-time tutors and support staff.
• Act as a student advocate with university faculty and staff.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related academic field.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work with and support a diverse group of people.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience working with populations similar to those served by the HEOP program.
• Experience designing and leading educational workshops and seminars.
• Experience with program evaluations and research.
• Similar life experiences to those of the students being served.
