Academic Success Coach

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic skill instruction to students with learning difficulties and disabilities
• Assist students in understanding cognitive strengths and weaknesses through effective learning strategies, such as note-taking and test-taking
• Develop and utilize strategies to help students manage executive functioning skills
• Help students navigate and utilize campus resources, including the Emmons Wellness Center and the Dean of Students Office
• Participate in bi-weekly 1:1 supervisory meetings and monthly team meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Psychology, Counseling, Communications, Rehabilitation, English, or a related field
• Current enrollment or acceptance into a Student Affairs or Counseling-related graduate program with a 3.0+ cumulative GPA
• One year of experience (combination of education and work) supporting students with learning-related disabilities
• Working knowledge of Section 504 and ADA regulations
• Understanding of the symptoms and needs of students with ADHD, learning disabilities, and psychological disabilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion, and diversity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring in a one-on-one or group setting
