Academic Specialist

Responsibilities

• Support student success through academic counseling and skills coaching for students across all campuses.
• Teach reading and writing courses on the Crete campus (up to three classes in the fall and two in the spring).
• Assist with the Tiger Mentoring program (TPM) for International and non-TRIO students.
• Collaborate with the Academic Support Coordinator and Executive Director on administrative duties for TPM and Peer Tutoring.
• Partner with Advising and Community and Government Relations to meet the specific needs of International Students.
• Communicate resources and upcoming events to the Doane community in collaboration with the Academic Success Center team.
• Utilize data to inform decisions regarding student success and retention strategies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in English, Education, Sociology, Multicultural Studies, Administration, or Higher Education.
• At least one year of experience in a postsecondary or advising environment.
• Proven experience in higher education academic support.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple duties and maintain high organizational standards.
• Ability to work with data to drive student success and retention.
