Academic Records/VA Certification Specialist

Responsibilities

• Serve as the university’s VA Certifying Official and point of contact for Military Tuition Assistance programs
• Enter VA certifications via the Enrollment Management System and track student enrollment updates using Banner
• Process veteran students using ArmyIgnited (formerly GoArmy Ed)
• Manage all aspects of transcript processing in coordination with the National Student Clearinghouse
• Assist with daily Registrar’s Office operations, including data entry, student record updates, and answering inquiries
• Support student readmission processing and graduation-related responsibilities
• Maintain required VA training levels to ensure compliance with educational benefit regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2-3 years of experience in a university setting, student service office, or service-oriented environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to handle confidential student records with high integrity
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to multitask efficiently and work under pressure in a multi-task environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a University Records Office
• Experience with education benefit programs for veterans, active-duty military, and their dependents
• Working knowledge of the VA Enrollment Manager web-based platform and other VA benefit portals
• Experience with systems used to process Tuition Assistance (TA) benefits
• Working knowledge of BANNER or similar Student Information Systems (SIS)
