Academic Fellow

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deliver innovative educational content within the Doctor of Pharmacy program.
• Serve as a primary instructor for didactic and experiential courses as assigned.
• Provide preceptorship to Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) students during clinical rotations.
• Complete a research project related to the scholarship of teaching and learning, including presenting data at professional meetings and submitting a manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal.
• Maintain a clinical practice site in either Ambulatory Care or Internal Medicine one day per week.
• Coordinate and staff health fairs or community outreach events through the Xavier University Health and Wellness Center.
• Engage in specialized academic areas such as curriculum design, assessment, admissions, or faculty affairs.
• Work toward obtaining the ASHP Teaching Certificate for Pharmacists.

Requirements

• Pharm.D. degree.
• PGY-1 residency training or clinical pharmacy experience in a practice setting.
• Current Pharmacy licensure in the State of Louisiana.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong professionalism and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in clinical practice settings.
• Interest in pursuing a long-term career in academia.
