About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the workflow of academic processes, including curriculum proposals, course scheduling changes, and academic calendar updates.
- Provide meeting support for academic committees by preparing agendas, recording action items, and distributing materials.
- Assist with research and data collection, including administering student surveys and summarizing enrollment data.
- Manage course expense funds, academic equipment requests, and teaching awards.
- Ensure online course syllabi are up-to-date and manage course access through the Learning Tools Provisioning System.
- Respond to routine and moderately complex inquiries regarding University and Faculty policies.
- Draft notices for dissemination through various student services and faculty communication channels.
Requirements
- High School graduation plus 1 year of related training and 2 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office within a PC/Windows environment.
- Experience with HTML publishing.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
- University or college graduation.
- Previous experience working at UBC or within a post-secondary institution.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in English grammar and punctuation.
- Ability to work effectively and tactfully with students, faculty, and the general public.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail regarding data entry and curriculum documentation.
