Academic Coordinator for Athletics

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day academic oversight and personal support to assigned athletic teams
• Monitor academic achievements and utilize advising skills to support student-athlete success
• Develop individualized educational plans for academically at-risk student-athletes
• Coordinate tutorial services, learning support, and departmental programming
• Assist with course registration, new student-athlete orientation, and academic center coordination
• Co-teach summer bridge courses to introduce student-athletes to university life
• Collaborate with coaches, faculty, administration, and campus holistic advisors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Professional experience working with diverse collegiate student populations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and group facilitation skills
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Competency in office technology and Google applications
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Experience advising Division I collegiate student-athletes
• Experience with Banner, Cognos, DegreeWorks, or other web-based advising tools
• Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of diverse student populations (Honors, learning disabilities, or multicultural backgrounds)
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and resolving complex problem situations
