Academic Ceremonies Usher

Responsibilities

• Provide event support and ushering for Academic Ceremonies
• Attend rehearsals and receive specific instructions/guidelines
• Assist with venue safety compliance and crowd management
• Assist with the processional and seating of graduates
• Communicate and uphold policies regarding cameras, smoking, and food/beverages
• Provide emergency announcements when required
• Guide guests after events and collect programs
• Assist in gathering lost items for lost & found
• Perform administrative tasks such as bagging programs and putting up posters

Requirements

• Must be reliable, responsible, and punctual
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Appropriate attire required for all events
• Must attend crowd management training
• Must be a student with active status for the semester
• Must be available for early arrival or late departure depending on ceremony dates
