About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive academic and career planning support through individualized one-on-one meetings.
  • Design personalized graduation plans and assist students in mastering complex degree and teacher-licensure requirements.
  • Support student retention through proactive communication and dedicated mentorship for at-risk individuals and adult learners.
  • Act as a campus advocate to help students navigate institutional processes such as grade appeals, changes of major, and withdrawals.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and faculty advisors to ensure holistic student care.
  • Participate in campus enrollment activities, including New Student Orientation and teaching student-success classes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least three years of related professional experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience specifically within an academic or career advising environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Adult Education, or a related field.
  • Prior experience serving as an institutional Academic Advisor for college students.
