About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive academic and career planning support through individualized one-on-one meetings.
- Design personalized graduation plans and assist students in mastering complex degree and teacher-licensure requirements.
- Support student retention through proactive communication and dedicated mentorship for at-risk individuals and adult learners.
- Act as a campus advocate to help students navigate institutional processes such as grade appeals, changes of major, and withdrawals.
- Collaborate with academic departments and faculty advisors to ensure holistic student care.
- Participate in campus enrollment activities, including New Student Orientation and teaching student-success classes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least three years of related professional experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience specifically within an academic or career advising environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Adult Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience serving as an institutional Academic Advisor for college students.
