About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic academic advising to guide students through academic planning and course registration.
- Assist students with degree requirements, major requirements, and class scheduling.
- Counsel students experiencing academic difficulty and provide referrals to appropriate support offices.
- Conduct proactive outreach to students on academic warning, probation, or suspension, as well as unregistered students.
- Document all meeting outcomes, referrals, and student interactions in university systems like Student Success and DegreeEval.
- Collaborate with faculty mentors, the Admissions Office, and other campus departments to support student success and retention.
- Manage special projects based on assigned student populations and university needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of two years of experience advising students in a postsecondary environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in academic advising, education, counseling, or a related field.
