Bachelor's degree in guidance and counseling, humanities, or social science, 3+ years experience in similar programs, Valid driver's license, Experience in program planning, Knowledge of career development and college admissions

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling, advising, and guidance to TRIO Student Support Services participants
  • Recruit new students and assist newly recruited participants throughout the school year
  • Plan and implement program services, including enrichment activities and events
  • Oversee the programming component, such as workshops and graduate school visits
  • Collaborate with SSS staff to develop program policies and processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation for recruitment and academic services

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in guidance and counseling, humanities, or social science
  • At least three years of experience working in a program with similar goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of career development, college admissions, and study skills
  • Experience in program planning (educational and enrichment activities)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive college or rental vehicles for trips
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Prior experience working with TRIO programs
  • Knowledge of recruitment strategies specifically for limited-income and first-generation students
