Academic Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic academic advising to a caseload of first- and second-year undergraduate students regarding major discernment, course selection, and degree requirements.
• Conduct 1:1 academic advising appointments in-person and online to support individualized academic planning and student success.
• Maintain accurate student records and interaction notes in accordance with department documentation standards.
• Facilitate the UNIV 101 First-Year Seminar and deliver academic workshops on topics such as registration and campus resources.
• Participate in new-student orientation sessions, student programming, and departmental committees.
• Liaise with families, faculty, and university departments to support student retention and timely graduation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of related experience in higher education or a student-facing role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office suite and email applications.
• Experience working with Student Information Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft).
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work some evening and weekend hours for campus events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience with EAB Navigate360, MS SharePoint, Teams, or Zoom.
